The National Center for Charitable Statistics is the national clearinghouse of data on the nonprofit sector in the United States.

The Ethics Resource Center (ERC) is a private, nonprofit organization devoted to independent research and the advancement of high ethical standards and practices in public and private institutions.

Better Business Bureau of Greater Kansas City Charity Accreditation

BBB accreditation provides charitable organizations with an avenue to establish their accountability to donors and potential donors by adhering to the voluntary BBB charity standards. These standards cover governance, effectiveness, finances and fundraising & informational materials.  There is no fee for accreditation.

Blackbaud Index: Fundraising and Online Giving Trends

The Blackbaud Index compiles up-to-date information on charitable giving. Tracking approximately $8 billion in US-based charitable giving, the Index is updated on the first of each month and is based on year-over-year percent changes. Featuring overall and online giving, the Index can be viewed by size and subsets of the nonprofit industry. 


National Council of Nonprofits

The National Council of Nonprofits is a trusted resource and advocate for America’s charitable nonprofits. Through their network of State Associations and 25,000-plus members they serve as a central coordinator and mobilizer to help nonprofits achieve greater collective impact in local communities across the country. They identify emerging trends, share proven practices, and promote solutions that benefit charitable nonprofits and the communities they serve.

Missouri Secretary of State

The Secretary of State is responsible for the initial creation and certain maintenance filings for all 300,000 domestic Missouri and out-of-state business entities doing business in Missouri.  These business entities include nonprofit corporations.  The Corporations Division provides the forms and resources necessary to form entities and maintain good standing status.

Washington University Law Intellectual Property and Nonprofit Organizations Clinic

This clinic presents law students with unique opportunities to address transactional matters and provide advice to nonprofit clients on a full spectrum of intellectual property and nonprofit law issues.  Nonprofits may receive help on a wide range of patent, copyright, trademark, and general business formation matters through this clinic.  Students are supervised.

St. Louis University Law Community and Economic Development Clinic

Students provide transactional representation to both for-profit and non-profit organizations lacking the resources necessary to access the traditional marketplace for legal services. Students serve as the primary counsel to CED Clinic clients on a range of matters including business and nonprofit structuring and formation, internal operational issues, contract drafting and review, loan document review, employee management issues, regulatory compliance issues, and real estate matters.  Students are supervised.
